I am Samara Almonte, a first-generation Chicana with a multinational upbringing planning from her green roots. I have a B.A in Urban Planning and Sustainable Design from Western Washington University, with an emphasis in Education and Social Justice. Community organizing and collective knowledge are at the core of my spatial planning and education work. I define green roots as our relationships to the environment based on narratives of migration, ancestry, and place-making. What are your green roots?
